Johny Bairstow's Reaction Playing IPL For SRH.

IPL 2019 Player Auction: English wicketkeeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow was elated as he was roped in by SunRisers Hyderabad for Rs 2.2 Cr from his base price of Rs 1.5 Cr. The cricketer took to Twitter to thank the franchise as he became first England player to be signed at this year’s IPL auction. He took to Twitter and wrote, “Delighted to be joining @SunRisers for #IPL2019!”

The Sunrisers Hyderabad is often one of the best teams at the auction. The side went into the auction with the second-lowest purse and didn’t release whole a lot of players. They had most of their bases covered. However, the wicket-keeper slot has been a long-sought problem ever since the franchise came into existence. But, with Jonny Bairstow coming in, it might possibly put a full-stop to all the troubles.

For the initial few seasons, they were forced to carry on with Naman Ojha as they didn’t have many other options available. In the mega-auction for the 2018 season, they brought Wriddhiman Saha as their keeping option. However, he failed to live up to the expectations and ended up being a huge disappointment.

Looking forward to it says Jonny Bairstow

Hence, Saha was put back into the pool before the IPL 2019 auction. They were only left with Sreevats Goswami as the sole wicket-keeper in the side. At the auction, the side has got in Jonny Bairstow into the team at a bargain price of INR 2.20 crores. He will most probably open the innings for the team in 2019 along with David Warner.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad side put up a tweet welcoming Warner into the squad. “@jbairstow21 will be a part our squad for the upcoming season of @IPL Welcome to the #OrangeArmy, Jonny! Base Price: 150L Sold Price: 220L #IPL2019Auction #IPL2019,” they wrote in their tweet.

Jonny Bairstow will go under the hammer. The 29-year-old has been in fine touch recently, hitting the bowlers mercilessly all around the ground. He scored some memorable runs in the ODIs versus Australia in June earlier this year at a strike-rate exceeding 130, that is pretty good even by T20 standards, and is expected to do the same in IPL. The opening batsman’s flamboyance makes him one of the favourites in getting some big bucks while under the hammer. Here the SRH teams Picks Jonny Bairstow to strengthen their squads:
