Star India announces new channel pricing ,seven new channel packs .






The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) tariff order, Star India announces his new seven channels pack with the hindi packs starting at Rs. 49(exclusive of all taxes).  Star india network has introduce his channel bundles in 7 languages including(Hindi,Marathi,Bengali,Tamil,Kanada,Telugu & Malayalam) for his customers to choose from.

The channels are available in four different sections - One is Value pack in SD(Standard Defination) & HD(High Defination) and Premium Pack in SD & HD. All the channel Pack have at least four Sports Channels from the Star Sports Network Along with National Geographic and Nat Geo Wild.

The Premium pack includes the content as well as the international entertainment ,movies,Lifestyle &  sports events like Premier League, Grand Slam events and formula 1. The premium pack is also available in seven different Languages.

Sanjay Gupta, Managing director, Star India said, "With this pricing strategy, we hope to achieve two things - make sports accessible to as many TV homes as possible, and service as many regions (by languages) as we can , all the rate affrodable to the customers".

TRAI's new tariff order which has to implemented by december 29, mandatory broadcasters to declare the pricing of the channels. it also disallow any price unequal between cable digital platforms, and direct to home(DTH) operators.

In August this year ,Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited(ZEEL) had announced its new pricing  strategy. The TRAI tariff order. The Hindi SD packs from ZEEL starts at Rs. 45 while the Hindi HD packs starts at Rs. 60.

Sony Pictures Network India (SPN) has been introduced similar packs starting with Rs. 31 while Viacom18's basic channel packs start at Rs. 25.
